Gonna Sell my Car and go to Vegas

When I turned 21, I vowed to myself that I wouldn't do the typical "21st-birthday let's go to Las Vegas" thing. I actually booked a flight to New York and went sightseeing in Manhattan with my boyfriend instead. But I've had a change of heart since then. I'm only 21; I can still flip flop on my decisions. So while I'm clinching to the last few months of my 21st year, I'm going to Vegas with friends.

I cannot tell you how excited I am! The food, the drinks, and the activities to do there. I don't know what to pack because if I bring pants or shorts, I don't think I'll have enough room to stretch for all the eating I'm going to do. Hopefully walking from the top to the bottom of the strip will help.
What is your favorite thing to do in Vegas and where?

Next stop, Vegas please!

On the Rocks

Once again I'm slacking on the posts. Sorry! On another note, my friend invited me to do some rock climbing. At first I thought we would go indoors and climb a rock wall. Oh boy, I was wrong.

We drove up the curvacious Highway 9 and after a 3-hour hike {we got lost, very lost}, we finally reached our destination. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and humbling. Below is a picture of my 6' tall friend next to some of the rocks. Beautiful, isn't it?

I love to be adventurous and all but, I have a confession. I'm a big baby. I truly enjoy the idea of challenging myself, pushing my limits, and expanding my horizons but sometimes I'm scared. Trying new things is always intimidating  until you build the courage to actually do it. This time was no different. I was silently freaking out in my head but pretended to keep calm on the outside. The boulder was daunting but I was in the capable hands of my friends, who are experts. One deep breath in, and I climbed and repelled all across that boulder.

It was a good day. I made it out alive, made new friends, got a tan, and now can cross rock climbing off of my summer to-do list.

Have you done anything adventurous this summer?

Please do not attempt this without a professional who knows what they are doing. There are many things that can go wrong, so take caution.

Mission: Mission Peak

Can you believe it's June already? This year seems to be flying by so quickly.
As a part of my summer to-do list, including the Arizona trip and ombré-ing my hair {check and check}, I have been yearning to see what all the fuss is about with Mission Peak. About a week ago, I rallied up a group friends and decided to find out for myself. Everyone had gone at least once before, so I was in for a surprise.

Looking at the top of the mountain from the ground, this hike appears to be very intimidating. I still don't know how I got my butt up that 2,517 ft high mountain. I took us 2.5 hours hiking up, 1 hour enjoying the view, 1.5 hours on our way down, 4 apples, 3 granola bars, 8 water bottles, 2 Gatorade bottles, and many breaks to complete this total hike of 11.2 miles. That may be nothing to some, but it was definitely an accomplishment to me to drag my way to the top. I proved to myself that I'm not as out of shape as I thought I was. Score!

Although the hike was long and strenuous, it's always good to remember to have a support system. I know that if I had hiked this alone, I would have probably turned back at the first check point. In life, it is the people you surround yourself with that make the journey all that much better. You struggled together, you achieved things together, and now you will enjoy it together.

Happy Friday!
